FODH Health Condition Survey
The Florida Office on Disability & Health, through its Advisory Board, Partners and stake-holders, has developed a FODH Health Condition Survey. We would like your feedback. Your participation is important because information obtained will assist in quantifying and focusing on issues to be used in long-term planning and policy development affecting persons with disabilities and their access to health care in the State of Florida. Florida Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Program is Hosting Order of Selection Workshops
BSCIP is holding a series of public workshops to develop an Order of Selection and to develop Service Requirements for Transitional Living Facilities for Brain and Spinal Cord Injury. An order of selection is developed when states have determined or projected that there are insufficient funds to serve all eligible clients. An Order of Selection is an orderly process to determine who gets served and in what order, what level of services are received, and what the duration of those services are. Please note that multiple locations will be utilized via new technology. Locations and times are:

Effects of Prolonged Electrical Stimulation on Neural Plasticity in Individuals with Spinal Cord Injury
This is a a new SCI research study being conducted at the Miami VAMC. Investigators are looking for individuals with incomplete spinal cord injuries at level C7 and above to participate. Save Money on Your Local Phone Service!
Lifeline Assistance Programs are helping to make telephone service affordable to low-income customers in our state. The programs are designed to ensure that the basic telephone connection (hook-up) and service remain affordable to all residents of Florida. Link-Up Florida gives a 50% rebate in the telephone hook-up charge (up to $30.00). Lifeline Assistance gives $13.50 credit per month on local phone bills. Over a year's time, that is a savings of $162.00. The Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC) is committed to making sure that eligible low income residents receive these discounts, but, to benefit, you need to apply.
Eligibility includes: . If you receive state or federal help from: . Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) . Food Stamps . Medicaid . Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) . Supplemental Security Income (SSI) . Federal Public Housing Assistance (Section 8) . National School Lunch (NSL) Program's free lunch program . In addition, if you live on a federally recognized tribal land and are eligible for benefits through the Bureau of Indian Affairs for Tribal TANF, Head Start Subsidy or the NSL, you qualify for expanded Lifeline assistance.
